First Lullaby

First Lullaby

Hush, my little darling boy,
Rest, my tiny one,
I’m here

To cuddle you and sing to you,
And keep you warm and safe,
I’m here

To make your cuts and scrapes all better,
And kiss your hurts away,
I’m here

To hold your hand and let it go,
And sing to you of angels,
I’m here

Rest my tiny baby,
Peace, my baby boy,
I’m here

Prayers to Washington.

Today is such a beautiful day,   the day after a snowstorm is always so lovely.  I am blessed because I had help to clean my walk and driveway, and everything is so very clean and refreshing, and the sky is true blue and cloudless.   I know this is not so much in keeping with my collection of Mary poems, but I’ve decided that my blog will include some other things as well.    Today, especially our elected representatives are haggling over issues that will affect each and every one of us.  I ask my readers to keep them in your thoughts and prayers today, light a candle at home as a symbol of your sending healing energy their way.  I pray that they make the decisions that are best for the people of America, and not base their decisions on what is the best political move for them.  Hey folks in DC… you just got a raise- can you hear the cries of your people?  Can I get an “amen?”

Baby Time

Mary and ElizabethBaby Time

 two women
matron and maiden
pregnant with Divinity

 are carrying  Sons
chosen to Prepare a Way
and establish a Kingdom
are carrying Sons

destined to baptize and to heal
and to die (one will rise)

 But for today,
matron and maiden,
pregnant with Divinity
delight in figs and tea
and weave soft blankets
and giggle in baby-time anticipation

Other Plans

So How does a young teen try to explain to her family her new condition?

 Other Plans

Yesterday, everything was so clean.
other plansCelestial greetings offered,
Divine Kingdoms promised,
A Sacred Plan proposed.
Yes, I remember there was a Plan…
Was that just a cruel daydream?
My womb informs me that my babe is real enough.

Today, Mother’s tears are endless,
Father’s eyes dismiss me,

And oh, my love, my Joseph
Recoils from my touch!
My innocence drowns in whispers of scandal

Tomorrow, I must leave my home
So that other plans can be made.
Whose Plan now shall I serve?

Annunciation

Heavenly Visitor to a young teen…..

Annunciation

Alone with the angel
A message of peace
A hint of a Plan
A blessing from God
but “deeply troubled.”

Alone with the angel
A plan unfolds
A baby…a kingdom
Consent or decline
A time to decide

The angel is gone
A Miracle’s at hand
God’s power is rested
Spirit enfolds
my story begins

Welcome!

Hi,  and welcome to what might be the 10 thousandth blogging site about Mary and her boy Jesus.  I hope you will enjoy this one as much as you enjoy the other sites.

Now, I just want you to know this blog is in no way a theologically or biblically correct treatise on the life and times of Mary and her Holy Family.  Instead, I have written a few poems that might have expressed how a young mother might have felt as she played out her role in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.  I hope you will enjoy them and can relate to them in your own lives.  I would appreciate it very much if you could give me a little feedback, tell me what you think about the poems.

Blessings, Mary C

I know these devotional altars come from loving hearts, but they really do put a smile on my face, (and probably Mary’s as well)
